New McComb fire chief on the job

David Fischer started his new job Monday as chief of the McComb Fire Department with the hopes of attracting new firefighters to the city force and helping bring more pay to his firefighters. He was named fire chief at a special city board meeting Friday in City Hall.

City board to hold meeting today

McComb’s city board will hold a special meeting Friday in city hall at 4 p.m.
The city called the meeting because the mayor and most of the board members plan to attend the Mississippi Municipal League Mid-Winter Legislative Conference next week in Jackson.
