Earnest Perry, McComb’s assistant police chief, was named interim chief starting June 17, the day after Police Chief Juan Cloy gives up his position.
The city board voted to give Perry the new title in a vote Tuesday in City Hall.
Perry will serve in the position for three months, according to the board’s motion.
