Demolition continues at the McComb Wholesale Paper Co. building on South Broadway. The demolition follows the recent sale of the business. The building was the last remaining structure affiliated with McComb’s former cotton mill on 24th Street.

Multiple agencies respond to chicken house fire

A Friday morning fire at Sunlight Farm just off of River Road South in the Friendship community left a chicken house destroyed. Friendship Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Dwain Brister stated that the call came in just before 7:45 a.m. When Brister arrived, the chicken house was engulfed in flames.

Depot contract approved

Tuesday night’s McComb City board meeting was an abnormal one in that it lasted less than 30 minutes, with little discussion over agenda items.
The most notable item was the contract approval from Twin L Construction for the construction of the McComb Railroad Depot.
