City accepts bid to rebuild depot

McComb officials accepted a bid Tuesday to rebuild the railroad depot, although one selectman opposed it over concerns about more expensive flooring and potential cost overruns.
The board voted near the conclusion to accept a bid from Twin L. Construction for just under $1.4 million to rebuild the fire-damaged depot.

Officials spar over donation of travel funds

“The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks is pleased to announce the grand re-opening of Percy Quin State Park in McComb, Mississippi,” stated a recent news release.

City hoping to get the lead out of water lines

McComb officials met Thursday to discuss removing lead pipes from the city water system and replacing them with cleaner, more efficient options.
McComb Mayor Quordiniah Lockley introduced Edwin Jones Sr., CEO of EJES Inc., whose business is leading the project for the city, to speak to those in attendance.
