Wee Center undergoes expansion

Like the little people they serve, First Baptist Church of McComb’s Wee Center is growing in all directions.
The center is remodeling some of the church’s former administrative offices to make room for two new baby rooms, which will give the center three such rooms.

Mother, daughters celebrate graduations

Shayla Tate and her two daughters experienced a rare opportunity for parents to share with their children in May — graduating within a few days of each other.
Tate graduated from McComb High School in 1998, and she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2002.

United Givers campaign kicks off

The United Givers of Southwest Mississippi has kicked off its annual fall campaign with a goal of raising $130,000 to support local nonprofits.
United Givers executive director Molly Johnson said the campaign began Sept. 1 and runs through the day before Thanksgiving.

Churches meet for leadership training

As some area churches struggle with a decline in attendance, New Heights Baptist Church recently hosted The Pike County Baptist Association’s annual church leadership training and supper.
Dr. Ronnie Falvey, pastor of First Baptist Church of Clinton, was the keynote speaker.
