New axe throwing business hits target for fun

A vacation in Orange Beach, Ala., inspired Tony Varaksa and his family to bring a new form of family fun to Summit.
He and his wife Karly recently opened AK Axe Throwing LLC at 700 Chesnut St., capitalizing on a sport that’s growing in popularity nationally.

Shooting, chase: No motives, no suspects, no more danger to residents

While five suspects from last Thursday afternoon’s drive-by shooting and manhunt that followed remained at large as of Monday morning, the danger to residents has diminished, according to McComb Police Chief Juan Cloy.

New trail at Edgewood Park nearly complete

Work is wrapping up on a new paved walking trail at Edgewood Park in McComb.
The trail, which is a quarter of a mile in length, is on the west side of the park bordering Jackson Street.
Wildstone Construction started work on the project on Aug. 7.
