There is a folk legend throughout Western Europe and beyond about magical “Seven-League Boots,” that would allow the wearer to achieve great walking speeds by taking giant strides of seven leagues — 15-20 miles per step.
This is no mere legend, though, because I’ve actually known a man who had Seven-League boots — my dad!
