Arrest made in store shooting

McComb police said a suspect has been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting death at a McComb convenience store.
Police said in a statement Monday afternoon that they were able to identify the suspect and make an arrest by Friday evening.
They did not release the suspect’s name or charges.

Jefcoat wins poultry award

Barry Jefcoat of Magnolia was recently named the 2025 Mississippi Poultry Association’s Allied Industry Leader of the Year.
Jefcoat, who works with Foodmate, was nominated for the honor each by MPA members and selected by the MPA Executive Committee. The award was previous known as Salesman of the Year.

Noon Tunes returns with guitarist Shellem opening concert series

Noon Tunes, the Pike County Arts Council’s free weekly concert series, returns next week and continues each Thursday throughout October at the Palace Theater courtyard in downtown McComb.
Rylan Shellem of Orlando, Fla., will be the featured musical artist for the first week.
