Man gets 25 years in deaths of two children

A man will serve 25 years in prison for the deaths of two children under his care, according to court records.
Vantrease Frazier pleaded guilty to two counts of second-degree murder for the May 2019 killing of Brayln Blunt, 2, and the September 2020 killing of his infant daughter Janiyah Chambers, 11 months.

Three tornadoes confirmed in Pike County

The National Weather Service confirmed three tornadoes hit Pike County last week.
Two hit west of McComb along Highway 570 and one damaged the area near Southwest Mississippi Community College, which remained closed through Wednesday as storm recovery efforts continued.

Brookhaven considering wood waste incinerator
