Former FBI agent, judge Hoaglund dies at 84

Cyrus “Cy” Hoaglund Jr., a Wisconsin native who made Pike County his home while serving as an FBI agent and later as a justice court judge, died Tuesday at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. He was 84.

Subject of Woodville manhunt captured in New Orleans

A man wanted in a March shooting near McComb that killed another man and grazed a 3-year-old boy has been captured in Florida, Pike County sheriff’s officials said.
Officials in Collier County, Fla., notified sheriff’s officials here last week that Thomas Brown was taken into custody following a chase.

Edney to replace Dobbs as state health officer

Mississippi health officials have selected the person who will replace Dr. Thomas Dobbs as the state’s health officer.
