17-year-old slain in McComb

A 17-year-old boy was shot to death on a street corner in a McComb neighborhood just after midnight Friday, awakening residents who reported hearing a shootout before they emerged from their houses to find the grisly scene.

PSA-Mississippi receives arts grant

The Pike School of Art-Mississippi is one of 78 nonprofit arts organizations from across the country to receive a grant from the The Ruth Foundation for the Arts.
The grants are worth $10,000 to $50,000 and are supported by a bequest from the late Ruth De Young Kohler II.

Missing woman found safe

A Pike County woman who was reported missing over the weekend has been found safe, her family said.
Kalli Francis Monceret was found Monday taking classes for a commercial driver’s license.
She had recently started classes in Flowood, unbeknownst to relatives and relocated there, her mother Lori Gant said.

Pike County woman reported missing

Area law enforcement officials are looking for a Pike County woman.
Pike County sheriff’s officials said the family of Kallie Francis Monceret’s family called them last week in regards to a welfare check and reported her missing.
She is a 5-foot-8 white woman with brown hair and hazel eyes.
