Services Saturday for Amite camper explosion victim

A man who was inside a camper trailer when a propane explosion blew it to pieces in Amite County late last month has died of his injuries.
Funeral services for Floyd Winfree are 11 a.m. today in the old Mount Pleasant Cemetery in the Busy Corner community, church officials said.

Officials: No foul play suspected in death of woman

No foul play is suspected in the death of a woman whose body was discovered Tuesday night in Magnolia, officials said.
Pike County Coroner Wally Jones said police initially suspected the woman was the victim of a homicide, but further examination of her body determined that was not the case.
