N. Pike mulls borrowing against taxes

North Pike is preparing to issue 3-mill notes for spending yet to be determined.
Business Manager Tina Griffin told school board members Thursday that the district’s last 3-mill notes will be paid off in September, and “you always want to have some 3-mill notes on the books.”

City eyes Gateway water rights

McComb officials are thinking about expanding the city’s water service area.
Mayor Quordiniah Lockley broached the idea Tuesday night of negotiating with the Sunny Hill Water Association to take over water service to Gateway Industrial Park.

Debate over Delaware Ave. improvements roils on city board

McComb city board members again addressed plans for Delaware Avenue in Tuesday’s work session.
Mayor Quordiniah Lockley said board minutes reflected that selectmen had voted to follow the recommendations in an 8-year-old strategic plan developed for the city, rather than modifications that grew out of discussion about Delaware.
