Dairy Fest to churn up fun next weekend

TYLERTOWN — The 47th edition of the Walthall County Dairy Festival hits Holmes Water Park on Saturday, June 1.
Immediately after the opening ceremonies at 8 a.m., the baby contest, sponsored by Walthall County Homemakers, for children up to 48 months will be held on the main stage.

City’s depot still in limbo

McComb selectmen continued discussions Tuesday on the dilemma of the depot.
The building that housed Amtrak’s waiting room as well as the McComb Railroad Depot Museum is still awaiting full reconstruction three years after a fire swept through it on Memorial Day weekend.

City OKs review of water billing

McComb’s city board agreed, in a split vote, to contract with Water Company of America to find any revenues the utility department might not be collecting.
Mayor Quordiniah Lockley broke a 3-3 deadlock with a vote in favor of the contract.
