Bert Reynolds didn’t have to go far to find influential people in his life. Growing up in the Lincolnville neighborhood of St. Augustine, Fla., his grandmother fought for civil rights and fed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at her restaurant when he came to town, and his barber survived three attempted lynchings.
