Martin contests Ward 2 election

Lynn Martin said Friday that she is hiring an attorney to contest the results of the June 21 Ward 2 election in McComb.
Martin, a Democrat, lost to Republican Matt Codding 186-164.

Football uniform request brings debate

City officials raised questions about finances when the McComb Ravens youth football team requested $6,000 for equipment and uniforms at Tuesday’s work session.
Leroy Robinson, commissioner of the city’s youth football program, said the McComb Recreation Department oversees the team.

Mayor wants city to lighten up

When McComb Mayor Quordiniah Lockley proposed changing street lights to LEDs at Tuesday’s work session, discussion shifted to lighting on Interstate 55.
“The prior board asked that I would contact Entergy to see about changing out our street lights to all LED lights,” Lockley said. “I did make contact with Entergy.”
