N. Pike softball sweeps Greene County

It appeared North Pike won its division after a home softball victory against Purvis Tuesday night, but Poplarville ended up as the district champion after sweeping Sumrall and winning a tiebreaker.

As a result, the Lady Jaguars won a required extra series this weekend to get into the postseason.

North Pike will play in the rubber game of the first round of the playoffs after falling at Northeast Jones Saturday night 12-8.

The series is tied 1-1. Game 3 will be at 7 p.m. Monday at North Pike. The winner will move on to the second round while the loser’s season will end.

Game 2 is at Northeast Jones at 6 p.m. Saturday. If necessary, Game 3 is at North Pike at 6 p.m. Monday.
