Stewart Signs has already secured first place in 11-12-year-old Pike County Youth Sports baseball, but things did not go their way at Edgewood Park Thursday night.

Thanks to a six-run first inning, Quality Rental, who is in second place, handily defeated Stewart Signs 12-2 in four innings.

ESA Jays ranked No. 1 in state

The Elite Sports Academy Jays, a United States Specialty Sports Association baseball team for ages 7 and under in the AA division, was recently ranked No. 1 in Mississippi and No. 6 in the nation based on a power point system.

The McComb Miracle League, a baseball league for players with mental and physical handicaps, is in its third season at Field 4 at McComb Sports Park and has approximately 60 participants and 130 volunteers.

There were a little more than 80 volunteers last year.

Although the Cleveland Cavaliers dropped Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals to the Toronto Raptors, they still lead the series 2-1 and have a very good chance of winning the NBA title.

It would be a great story if the Cavaliers do win the championship.
