The Pike County 10-year-old American League Dixie Youth Baseball all-stars — now called Team Mississippi — opened the World Series with a 13-6 win against North Carolina in Laurel Saturday night.
J.R. Lott was the starting pitcher, Ty Golmon followed up in relief, while Trey Brumfield went the final two innings.
