Brown hits two homers in Parklane 6-1 victory

The Parklane Academy softball team opened its tournament Saturday with a district game against Oak Forest Academy from Amite City, La., and played what head coach Steve Sasser believed was the most complete game of the year in a 6-1 victory.

While “Meet the Bears” was an opportunity for fans to see the Southwest Mississippi Community College teams up close for the 2016-17 school year Thursday night, the football team used it as an opportunity to practice for the season opener next week.

The Bears open the season at Coahoma Community College at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
