Officials say city inmates locked out of jail

Officials with McComb police and the Pike County Sheriff’s Office voiced differences in how an agreement to hold the city’s inmates is being handled.

City board gets OK to post cameras at dump

McComb officials can use game cameras to secretly record people contributing to an illegal dump site in an effort to prosecute them, according to the city board’s attorney.
Marcus Williams told selectmen Tuesday that placing game cameras is not against the law.

Board gets look at new ward lines

McComb is a step closer to quickly adopting a redistricting plan.
The city board on Tuesday directed Hazlehurst attorney Carroll Rhodes to draw a new ward map, which he described to selectmen as a “work in progress.”

Depot repairs mulled

McComb officials are considering declaring an emergency for the McComb Railroad Depot in order to hire workers to shore up what’s left of the historical structure that was badly damaged by arson nearly six months ago.
The city board will vote on whether to do both of those things at its meeting next Tuesday.
