City board to determine Martin's fate

Greg Martin is McComb’s acting police chief for the next 21/2 weeks. Whether he remains in that job afterward depends on city selectmen.

Circuit Judge David Strong on Thursday ordered Martin reinstated as acting police chief until the next board meeting on July 28, when the board will decide whether Martin should continue.

Magnolia proceeding with annexation

Magnolia is going ahead with plans to annex Quinlivan Road.

Aldermen voted 5-0 Tuesday night to approve an ordinance of annexation that would extend the city limits 2.03 miles north to the Airport-Fernwood Road and take in an additional 344 people.
