McComb to absorb $1.9M sports park deficit

McComb’s general fund will take a $1.9 million hit that was spent on McComb Sports Park construction following the failure of a bond issue last year that would have covered the expenses.

As a result, the city will close its 2008-’09 fiscal year in September with about $1.9 million less in its fund balance than anticipated.
