Several Amite incumbents not seeking re-election

Five Amite County officials have announced they are not seeking re-election in 2011.

Circuit Clerk Sharon Walsh announced to the Amite County Board of Superivisors in November that she is leaving office when her fifth term ends on Dec. 31.

FBI raids cancer clinic

FBI agents served a search warrant at a Summit medical clinic on Wednesday, an FBI spokesperson confirmed.

Deborah Madden said agents from the FBI’s Jackson office executed the search warrant Wednesday afternoon at the Rose Cancer Center, 807 Robb St., which is operated by Dr. Meera Sachdeva.
