Lady Jaguars’ defense keeps Brookhaven at bay

The North Pike Lady Jaguars overcame a sluggish start and used their full-court press to hassle the Brookhaven Lady Panthers en route to a 62-44 win, their second straight, on Friday night.

Both teams started off sluggish and tied the game at 4 midway through the first quarter.

Centreville in championship

CENTREVILLE — It was the coldest game of the season Friday night as the Centreville Academy Tigers punched their ticket to the MAIS Class AA State Championship game with a 49-19 home win against the Canton Academy Panthers. Centreville will take on the Adams County Christian Rebels at 1 p.m. Friday at Mississippi College in Clinton.
