Battle of unbeatens

Two of the area’s unbeaten teams will put their 3-0 records on the line at 7 p.m. Friday when South Pike hosts Tylertown at Colley Field.

Both teams are coming off of a bye week after wins. Tylertown won at home against McComb 32-23 in Week 3, while South Pike won at Amite County 34-16.

South Pike travels to Amite County

The South Pike football team is 2-0 under first-year head coach Brinson Wall and is attempting to remain undefeated when it travels to 0-2 Amite County at 7 p.m. Friday.

The Eagles have used their youth and speed to win their first two games.

Eagles hang on to defeat Bulldogs 40-34

South Pike freshman quarterback Dantavious Turner shook off six tackles and fully stretched one arm over the goal line to break a tie with 42 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, giving the Eagles a 40-34 home win against Franklin County Friday night.
