POPLARVILLE — Southwest Mississippi Community College dropped a pair of South Division basketball games Saturday afternoon at Pearl River.

The Lady Bears fell 55-41, while the Bears went down 68-59 in games made up from Thursday night due to inclement weather.

After losing a heartbreaker Monday night, the host Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears came back in a big way Tuesday to defeat the Holmes Bulldogs 82-64 in the final day of the Coca-Cola Classic.

The Lady Bears fell to the Holmes ladies, 75-57.

The Southwest Mississippi COmmunity College Bears took that to heart Saturday as they prevailed in a hard-fought 14-13 victory over the visiting Jones County Bobcats at John I. Hurst Stadium to end Homecoming 2010 on a high note.
