Southwest splits twin bill to end regular season

Blasting four home runs in the first three innings, the Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears closed out the regular season Saturday afternoon with a 10-4 Game 2 win over the East Mississippi Lions and a double header split. East Mississippi took the opener 12-6.

SMCC teams lose twin bills

Despite outhitting their hosts 24-16 on the day, the Bears dropped a non-conference doubleheader to the LSUA Generals JV squad Wednesday afternoon 14-9 and 5-1.

Run-scoring singles by Ray Hutchinson and Chance Groue gave the Bears a 2-0 first-inning lead of Game 1.
