SMCC takes two at Northeast 7-5, 11-6 to move to 22-20

Southwest Mississippi Community College picked up a pair of much-needed wins Saturday afternoon as they swept the host Northeast Tigers, 7-5 and 11-6, in Booneville.

With the wins moved the Bears to 22-20 overall and 11-15 in the conference while the Tigers fell to 20-24 and 11-15.

SMCC softball season ends with 9-0 loss

The Southwest Mississippi Community College softball team’s historic season came to an unfortunate end Sunday afternoon in Fulton as it lost 9-0 to the host Itawamba Lady Indians in game two of their first-round playoff series. The game ended after five innings.

Bears split with Tigers

The Southwest Mississippi Community College baseball team had mixed results in its final home doubleheader of the season as they split a doubleheader with the visiting Coahoma Tigers Saturday, winning the opener 5-0 before falling 7-6 in the nightcap.
