Park shooting trials moved to Gulf Coast

The five defendants charged in a drive-by shooting that killed a 6-year-old boy in a McComb park and wounded four others will stand trial separately in Harrison County, with the first proceeding likely to take place in November, a judge ruled Monday.

Cooking for a Cause

The United Givers of Southwest Mississippi held its Cooking for a Cause fundraiser Thursday night at the Palace Theater. Attendees, led by guest chef Chuck Paulk cooked their own dinner, which featured a Caesar salad, steak, asparagus, potatoes and dessert.

Homecoming festivities continue today when the college honors 2024 Alumna of the Year Dr. Tomekia Luckett and Sports Hall of Fame inductees Bo Milton and Anthony L. Williams during homecoming festivities on Saturday.
