Coach outlines rebuilding of volleyball program at SMCC

Small-town boredom led Chris Laird to the discovery of a game that turned into a serious hobby and then a career.
Laird is the head coach of the Southwest Mississippi Community College volleyball team, which just completed its first season at the college since 1973.

Phases for jail repairs outlined

DA office space at issue ahead of court changes

An assistant district attorney said upcoming court district changes will have local officials looking for office space for prosecutors and addressing other issues in the near future.
Robert Byrd said the DA is using an office in Magnolia in a building he purchased.
