Driver’s license office going away for good after Summit lease expires

Pike County is losing its driver’s license office when the lease at the location in Summit expires this year, supervisors said Thursday.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety already tried pulling out of the office but stayed after supervisors agreed to pay for the lease.

Hill's family, supporters demand justice after acquittal

LIBERTY — The family of Jordan Hill and their supporters marched around the Amite County courthouse on Thursday afternoon, a day after a jury acquitted a man of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of the fatal April 2025 accident that killed the 10-year-old boy.
