Jaguars edge Tigers 7-6 in Game 1

Daren Smith started and finished the game on the mound, but he had help in between to help the North Pike Jaguars edge the Northeast Jones Tigers 7-6 in Game 1 of the three-game series Friday in Summit.

Smith pitched three and two-thirds to start the game and struck out Cameron Jones to clinch the game.

McComb loses twin bill to end season

The McComb Lady Tigers ended their season by losing a doubleheader to the Poplarville Lady Hornets Thursday at the McComb Sports Complex.

Poplarville took Game 1 15-5 and Game 2 by a 13-2 score.

N. Pike begins playoff run tonight

Two years removed from a trip to the South State Championship, the North Pike Jaguars begin another playoff run Friday at home against the Bay High Tigers.

Last year however, North Pike’s season ended early, following a first-round loss to Northeast Jones, which the Tigers took 2-1.
