Franklin County begins hunt for new football coach

MEADVILLE — For the third time in five years, the Franklin County Bulldogs will be looking for a new football coach.

Former coach Rickey O’Quinn Jr. was reassigned from his football position Friday to a basketball post in a move that surprised many in Meadville.

MEADVILLE — With bragging rights and playoff seeding at stake, the Franklin County Bulldogs collected a convincing 16-0 win over rival Jefferson County Friday night to wrap up the No. 3 seed in Region 7-3A.

The Bulldogs (7-4, 3-2) travel to McLaurin next Friday night to begin first-round action in the 3A playoffs.
