Pickens Mayor Joel Gill won the Democratic congressional primary for Mississippi’s 3rd Congressional District and will challenge Republican incumbent Gregg Harper of Pearl, who first won the seat in November 2008.
No incumbents were on the ballot in Mississippi; only opposing-party nominees were chosen.
