Jaxon Kinabrew of Centreville didn’t want any more toys.

At 6 years old, he had more than he could fit in one playroom already.

Instead for his birthday, Kinabrew decided he would help out some friends instead — four-legged friends in need.

After weeks of construction, it’s starting to look like a house on North Magnolia Street.

With the newly named Pike County Fuller Center for Housing leading the way, what began as an empty lot is a few steps closer to being a finished house in east McComb.

Drug Court grads set on new path

For Samuel Jackson, Tuesday was a chance to move forward, not go back to normal.

The 17-year-old from McComb stood at the podium in the Pike County Courthouse.

With his certificate in hand, Jackson thanked those who helped him finish Pike County Youth Drug Court like no one had done before.

PALS needs votes to win $10K

Pike Animal League Shelter Rescue needs donations, volunteers and forever homes for its dogs and cats.

But this summer, PALS also needs a vote.

PALS is one of three Mississippi nonprofits competing for a $10,000 donation from Ridgeland-based Brown Bottling Group.
