Pioneer teams get road wins over Oak Forest

Both South Pike and Parklane were supposed to face other opponents during Saturday’s Bobby Nelson McComb Lions Club Shootout event in Summit.

The Eagles were scheduled to face Columbia while the Pioneers were supposed to play against Wesso, but the Wildcats and Cobras both opted out.

Parklane girls power past S. Pike in tournament play

Just like the boys contest, Saturday’s girls game between South Pike and Parklane was a first-time matchup between the two Pike County schools.

The game was part of the Bobby Nelson McComb Lions Club shootout held at both Southwest Mississippi Community College and North Pike High School.
