Toys for Tots drive kicks off

Come Christmastime, kids in Pike, Amite and Walthall counties can wake up to new toys, thanks to Toys for Tots’ 2018 Christmas campaign.

Starting Oct. 10, the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program Coordinator Terry Quin will accept applications for the holiday toy giveaway at 2300 Delaware Ave.

S. Pike trustees hear safety concerns

At the South Pike Board of Education’s meeting Thursday morning, Leslie Hurst of Magnolia said she was concerned about the school’s Sept. 20 lockdown and overall school security.
