Mississippi’s state symbols could use tweaking

The discussion started after Angelyn and I paused to admire some of the many yellow coreopsis wildflowers currently growing on the roadsides.
She told a friend about them and noted that coreopsis is the state wildflower. To which he responded that he thought the magnolia had that distinction.

I happened to glance at a cooking show recently when the host listed “super foods.” To my surprise, spices were near the top.
