Louisiana man killed in Franklin hunting accident

A Louisiana man who was hunting in Franklin County but wasn’t wearing his protective gear was accidentally shot and killed by a fellow hunter on Friday morning.

Rick Kennedy, 63, of Vidalia, died after being shot with a .35 Whelen rifle fired by Danny Richards, 52, of Natchez at approximately 7:30 Friday.

Man killed in 24 crash

Authorities have released the identity of a Centreville man who died in a two-vehicle accident Monday morning on Highway 24 in Amite County.

Ben Griffin, 57, died after a collision with an 18-wheeler at 8:59 a.m. near Irene Road.
