Bellipani interim chief in Liberty

LIBERTY — Aldermen appointed police officer Brad Bellipani interim police chief Tuesday after voting 4-1 to discharge chief Nathan Toney.

Mayor Ricky Stratton said aldermen had counseled with Toney numerous times about not completing reports in a timely manner.

Alderman Walt Gaston cast the lone vote against the firing.

Magnolia aldermen OK pay raises

Robbery suspects tracked to California

Two suspects wanted in connection with two McComb armed robberies have been tracked to California, and one of them has been arrested for another crime.

McComb police Detective Sullivan Shannon said he recently received word that Deavonta Barnell Edmond, 22, and Paul Quin, 31, fled to California.
