McComb Sunflower grocery store manager and Elvis impersonator Maurice Rutland serenades Willie Ann Lang during a store special on Friday in honor of Presley’s 1975 concert to aid in McComb’s recovery of a tornado that occurred the year before. The city renamed its part of Highway 98 in Presley’s honor the following year.

Causey wins Amite County's Democratic chancery nod

LIBERTY — Amite County Deputy Chancery Clerk Jana Causey beat two other Democrats in Tuesday’s chancery clerk primary and will advance to the general election Nov. 3.

Causey ended the night with 2,387 votes, or 58 percent, compared to Chuck Freeman, who got 1,288 votes (31 percent) and Glenn Wilson’s 460 votes.
