McComb Mayor Zach Patterson did not file qualifying papers for re-election by Thursday’s 5 p.m. filing deadline, and a former selectman joined the race minutes at the last moment.
Patterson, who was elected to office in 2006, had not announced his intentions in the weeks leading up to the qualifying deadline.
