North Pike selects abstinence-only sex ed

North Pike eighth-graders will take a new “abstinence-only” sex education course beginning next year.

School board trustees approved the coursework on Thursday.

Mississippi schools have until June 30 to decide how to incorporate sex education classes into the curriculum for the 2012-13 school year.

City delays action on new pay scale

McComb selectmen indicated Tuesday that they want to wait until they plan the 2012-13 budget before putting a new pay scale in place that would bring pay raises and an extra $376,000 in annual expenses.

Roxie Elaine Wells Wilkinson left the home of her daughter, Connie Nelson, to return to her home on Evans Road about a mile away around 3 p.m. Thursday.
