Although Christmas was nearly two weeks ago, McComb’s depleted general fund received a late present on Wednesday. Pike County Tax Collector Joe Young agreed to deliver $650,000 to the city in ad valorem taxes 13 days earlier than expected.
The funds, collected in December, were not expected until Jan. 20.
