After more than 30 years of service, McComb Police Chief Greg Martin was nearly denied his right to retire.
Near the end of the city board meeting Tuesday, Mayor Whitney Rawlings asked for a motion to accept Martin’s letter of resignation. After a few seconds of silence, the selectmen burst into laughter.
