Several months ago, McComb Mayor Whitney Rawlings visited Fire Station No. 2 on Harrison Avenue and found furniture balanced on wooden blocks, broken ceiling tiles and out-of-date working conditions.
“Looking at the interior of the building, I thought, ‘We can do better than this for our firefighters,’ ” he said.
