Hosemann heads to Kuwait, Iraq to encourage voting

Mississippi’s secretary of state joined officials from four other states Tuesday on a trip to Kuwait and Iraq, encouraging voter participation among military members stationed overseas.

The trip, announced in a conference call with regional media, included stops in Baghdad and Balad and visits with election officials in Iraq.

Mississippi Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann arrived in Kuwait today on a visit to American soldiers overseas, officials at the Secretary of State's office announced.

"He's visiting our soldiers, talking to them about the upcoming election," said Pam Weaver, with the secretary of state's office.
