Summit remains undefeated in tourney

The Summit 11-year-old All-Stars managed to get through a game that had been postponed twice and started out with neither side looking too sharp after the layoff.

Summit’s home run strokes gave the host All-Stars nine runs to play with in their 23-9 win over Laurel.

NEW ORLEANS — Southern Miss fans may want to buy low now, because the Golden Eagles stock may get pretty high before the end of the season.

After losing to East Carolina and Virginia Tech in consecutive weeks last season, the Golden Eagles beat Memphis and held Tulane to just 85 yards of offense.

Saints get special teams, red zone work

JACKSON — The New Orleans Saints were greeted by a walk-thru on Monday morning to start the week before their first preseason game.

It wasn’t an off day though, as coach Sean Payton ran his first day of red zone drills and special teams.

Rain postpones state tournament: McComb leads 14-3 in 5th

McComb almost won its first elimination game of the 11-year-old Dixie Youth state tournament.

The team didn’t lose it, though. McComb will have to wait until 6 tonight to finish off the 14-3 lead it opened up against Moss Point Monday night at the Windsor Gay Youth Sports Complex in Summit.
