When Josh Armstreet is in the backfield before a snap, he peers out over his offensive line into the defense and 10 to 12 yards downfield.

Armstreet focuses on where he needs to go and which defenders he may need to juke to take care of his job and pick up those yards.

SMCC, Co-Lin renew rivalry

Southwest Mississippi Community College will meet its rival to the north Copiah-Lincoln Community College on Thursday.

The Bears (1-1) and Wolves (0-2) will kick off in Wesson at 7 p.m.

Last year Co-Lin won 30-13 on its way to second place in the state and a bowl game win.

Bulldogs outplay Tigers

MEADVILLE — Franklin County’s Jamie Collins isn’t at 100 percent yet, which may be a problem for every team that hasn’t already gotten a shot at him.

The Bulldogs quarterback rushed for 102 yards and threw for a touchdown to lead Franklin County to a 28-19 win over visiting McComb on Friday night.
